His love of nature defined him.
It was contagious.
Everyone who walked with him in the woods
became a nature advocate.

Final Book from Ned’s Library Finds a Home at South Dallas Cultural Center

Final Book from Ned’s Library Finds a Home at South Dallas Cultural Center

May 19, 2025 Uncategorized

Ned bequeathed his considerable book collection to Dogwood Canyon Audubon Center. A couple of years ago, it was passed along to Ned Fritz Legacy. We spent months cataloging the books and passing along significant books to entities that we knew would share them with others. We conducted book sales to find homes for the rest.

One last book never found a home: Birds of Africa. The oversized, 191-page book features big, beautiful photos and illustrations. Roger Tory Peterson wrote the Introduction.

As of last week, it now resides at the South Dallas Cultural Center in the Gwendolyn Brooks Resource Library. Here is communication director DeNarrian Dupree accepting the book.
