His love of nature defined him.
It was contagious.
Everyone who walked with him in the woods
became a nature advocate.

Get to know the team behind Ned Fritz Legacy. The project arose from the Ned and Genie Fritz Texas Buckeye Trails, where Kristi Kerr Leonard leads the restoration team. As Amy researched the Buckeye Trails chapter for her book Wild DFW: Explore the Amazing Nature Around Dallas-Fort Worth, and Kristi developed educational handouts for the trail, they realized that information on Ned was lapsing online and becoming hard to find. Sites with in-depth material were primarily appealing to researchers. His legacy was in danger of slipping away.

Both had long-standing ties to Genie and her daughter Eileen Fritz McKee. So with the family’s support [link to Genie letter], they sprang into action to begin creation of the Legacy website. They hope you’ll become as enthusiastic about the project, as the more funds that are raised, the more interesting the website can be with videos, Powerpoints, and other engaging storytelling methods. For a complete list of the tasks needed to create this website, please see What it Takes.
