His love of nature defined him.
It was contagious.
Everyone who walked with him in the woods
became a nature advocate.

Texas Buckeye Trail Restoration Days Resume for Fall

Texas Buckeye Trail Restoration Days Resume for Fall

August 29, 2024 Uncategorized

Birds & Blooms at the Ned & Genie Fritz Texas Buckeye Trail Restoration with Ned’s Texas Conservation Alliance

Sat., October 19, 2024

Join Trinity Coalition, North Texas Master Naturalist, and Dallas Parks and Recreation, together with Texas Conservation Alliance, founded by Ned and Genie Fritz, and Ned Fritz Legacy, on Saturday, October 19, for a morning of birding to observe migratory birds on their journey south.

After birding, participate in a hands-on activity to plant native plants and milkweed along the Ned & Genie Fritz Texas Buckeye Trail to support birds and pollinators in the urban environment. Volunteers will help restore prairie habitats, protect wildlife, and enjoy a fun time outdoors. You also have the option to control privet on Genie’s Shortcut on the soft-surface sections of the trail.

Agenda:

  • 8:30 – 9:45 am: Birding with Karen Carpenter (NTMN Member) and Heather Bullock (Lights Out, Dallas Assistant Coordinator)
  • 9:45 – 10:00 am: Break
  • 10:00 am – 12:00 pm: Planting native plants & controlling privet.

Please note: Minors under the age of 16 need to be accompanied by a guardian.

Register to be notified of changes due to weather. Questions? Contact: Mei Ling Liu.
