Ned and Genie’s daughter, Gayle Fritz-Esarey, and her husband Mark Esarey are in town to help Genie with her taxes. I sit down with them and Eileen for a chat. The first of a series of interviews to come with Genie. Charming stories about how Genie and Ned met and married, and their early life together. How quiet nights and weekends with the family restored Ned, as did bird watching out the large back windows with his ever-present binoculars and a stack of bird books at hand. A full-bodied picture of Ned emerges. I depart with some wonderful photos to scan for the website and a precious copy of Genie’s book, My Life With Ned Fritz.
