His love of nature defined him.
It was contagious.
Everyone who walked with him in the woods
became a nature advocate.

DBA + Save the Trinity River Coalition (tollway)

March 8, 2022 Uncategorized

A trip downtown to the county records building to get a DBA (“doing business as”) on Ned Fritz Legacy so we can pen a bank account. We’re now official!

Late that day, the inimitable David Gray drops by with a thumb drive of great documents detailing Ned’s help in the fight against the Trinity Parkway tollroad, Ned’s second fight for the soul of the Trinity River. Inspiring an incredibly dedicated team of activists called Save the Trinity River Coalition while in his late 80s, Ned wins again. A Dallas city council vote makes it official: no ill-conceived highways in a frequently inundated floodplain. Now Ned’s long-time dream of returning the river basic to nature, now called rewilding, becomes possible.
